Later today the President of the Republic of Lithuania, Dalia Grybauskaitė, and NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg will visit Exercise IRON WOLF 2017 to watch a NATO eFP Wet Gap Crossing.

Yesterday, during rehearsals, C&S was allowed unprecedented access to capture the action at the crossing site on the Neris River where German and British amphibious engineers assembled M3 rigs to form both a floating bridge and then a ferry capable of transporting pairs of Leopard 2 main battle tanks. In this validation exercise phase for the NATO eFP (enhanced Forward Presence) Lithuanian and Polish multinational battlegroups, examples of all deployed armoured vehicle types will today be driven over the floating bridge or ferried across the river.

We will bring readers a full report in a future issue of COMBAT & SURVIVAL Magazine.
